Below we have put together tips and techniques to how to fix a washer that won’t start:

Washer Repair

1.  Check Power Source

  • Check your appliance to ensure it is plugged in to the outlet in the wall. If your appliance is plugged in to the outlet, check your electrical panel to ensure that the breaker for your washing machine has not switched to the off position. If it is showing it is showing it is on the on position, you may of blown a fuse, and it may need to be replaced.
  • Is your power socket connected to power? You can use a voltage tester to check to see if the outlet has power connected to it. If this test shows there is no power to the outlet, you can fix the wiring – granted you know how to safely do this.
  •  If you do not know how to safely fix the wiring to your outlet, we recommend that you unplug your washer and plug it into a different plugin that another appliance is plugged into and already receiving power from.

Call in an appliance repair technician to repair your appliance for you or call an electrician to repair your wiring to the plugin.

 2.   Squeaking is coming from the top of the unit

  • If you washing machine has power but will not give power to the lights on your washer – it is likely that it is malfunctioning.
  •  Check to see if your lid or door is closed properly as if it is not your washer has a door locking system that will not show lights while it is closed improperly. Try opening and closing your door to see if your washer now has any lights indicating it is now ready for use.

If your washer still has no lights – it is recommended you call in an appliance repair technician to repair your washing machine for you.
