How to Reset Bosch Dishwasher
If your Bosch dishwasher is acting up, stuck mid-cycle, or displaying an error code, a quick reset can often solve the problem. Fortunately, Bosch dishwashers are easy to reset—once you know how.
Here’s a simple guide to reset your Bosch dishwasher and get things running smoothly again.
When Should You Reset Your Bosch Dishwasher?
- The cycle is frozen or won’t advance
- The dishwasher won’t start
- You see an error code on the display
- The buttons aren’t responding
- You want to cancel a cycle and start over
How to Reset a Bosch Dishwasher
Method 1: The Standard Reset (for most models)
- Open the door slightly to pause the cycle.
- Press and hold the “Start” button (also labeled “Start/Reset” on some models) for 3 to 5 seconds.
- Wait for the “Active” light to turn off or for the display to show “0:00”.
- Close the door. The dishwasher should drain and then end the cycle.
✅ On many models, this will also clear error codes.
Method 2: Cancel a Cycle
- Open the door.
- Press and hold the Start/Reset button for 3–5 seconds.
- Close the door again.
- The machine will drain the water and shut off once canceled.
Method 3: Power Reset
If the standard method doesn’t work:
- Turn off the circuit breaker connected to your dishwasher.
- Wait 5 minutes.
- Turn the breaker back on.
- Start a new cycle.
Still Seeing Errors or Problems?
If your Bosch dishwasher still isn’t functioning correctly after a reset, there may be a deeper issue like:
- A faulty control board
- Drainage or water inlet problems
- Sensor malfunctions
