If you are planning on running a self-clean cycle before the holidays, we recommend that you perform a clean yourself instead of using your ovens cleaning function. What are the Problems that Can Arise From Running a Self-Clean A good tip to note every year is to not perform a self-clean on your oven before a cooking or baking day. Some ovens self-cleaning temperatures can be up to 1000oF and this can cause your oven to malfunction or breakdown easily. It may trip the thermostat, cause the door latches to fail, and in some cases, fry the control panel.
