Clever Tips and Tricks of Using Dryer Sheets Around Your House

Repelling Bugs

In today’s day and age, people are becoming a lot more aware of the chemicals they put on their bodies and how they can affect their health. If you are like one of these people and do not like using bug spray because of the chemicals, dryer sheets are a great alternative. Bugs will be repelled by the smell of a dryer sheet and it is recommended to keep one or two tucked in your pockets to repel the bugs. Many hikers will tell you this is what they do when they are out hiking and that it works wonderfully!

Refilling Your Duster Pads

Instead of spending money on new duster pads, use two used dryer sheets on your Swiffer or push duster. Dryer sheets are great for reducing static and will help pick up all the dust when dusting. Now you can recycle your sheets and save some money.

Remove Hard Water Stains

By adding a bit of water to your dryer sheets, a little bit of elbow grease, and some time – you can remove hard water spots and soap scum stains off of your shower door and shower. This helps you remove these spots and stains without having to try different expensive cleaners from the store.

Clean Your Electronics

Your electronics are electrically charged and if you have ever tried to clean the dust off of them, you may notice it is attracted right back to it. If you use a dryer sheet, they are meant to reduce the amount of static so using it to clean your electronics will help remove the dust and not have it be re-attracted back to the screen.

Clean Up Pet Hair

Instead of using and always constantly replacing a lint roller, use a dryer sheet to remove pet hair from clothing and furniture. Gently rub the sheet on your clothes or your furniture to remove all the pet hair. We recommend using this trick before washing any blankets or clothing that has a lot of animal hair on it.

Using your dryer sheets not only helps reduce waste, it also saves your pocketbook by saving you from buying unnecessary second products for your household. If you have any appliance concerns, call your local appliance repair team.
