Why is My Samsung Oven Not Cooking Evenly?.

Never let burnt cookies or under cooked dinners make you question your chef skills, it could very well be your oven that is to blame. What should you do when your oven cooks unevenly? First of all, check to make sure your oven is calibrated correctly to accurately reflect the temperature it is heated to.

Samsung Oven Not Heating Properly

Troubleshoot Samsung Oven Not Cooking Evenly

There can be several different reasons why your Samsung oven is not heating properly, whether it is a convection or regular baking oven. We will help you pinpoint the most likely reasons why your Samsung oven is not cooking evenly, with specifying if you can repair it yourself with a quick adjustment or if it needs to see a repair technicians.

Common Causes of Uneven Cooking

Before we get into assessing the malfunction of your oven, Samsung oven troubleshooting begins with the users use and care;

With a few simple adjustments, the common causes of uneven cooking can be fixed:

·     Wrong Cookware: Dark pans absorb heat a lot easier than lighter pans. Use light pans for foods that are likely to burn easily and dark pans for foods less likely to burn easy.

·     Incorrect rack position: You may have the oven rack too close or too far away from the heating element which will leave your food either overcooked or undercooked. Check with your recipe to see what rack position is recommended.

·     Not Pre-Heated: Your oven pre-heats to ensure that it reaches the proper temperature before you start cooking. Ensure you allow your oven to fully preheat before putting your dish in the oven.

·     Opening the Oven Door: Refrain from opening the oven door while cooking as this lets out heat from the oven. Like we always say, “If you are looking, you aren’t cooking.”

Oven Thermostat Needs to be Calibrated

An oven thermostat senses the temperature of the oven, cycling heat off and on as it is needed. While most oven thermostats will stay calibrated while malfunctioning, sometimes they need to be adjusted to accurately reflect temperature settings.

We recommend two ways of checking to see if your oven is properly calibrated. First, place one cup of sugar in your oven and the temperature at which the sugar begins to melt, will determine if the oven needs to be calibrated. Second, you can bake a regular batch of biscuits, if they come out underdone or overcooked by following the recipes directions, it is likely the thermostat needs to be recalibrated.

Defective Samsung Heating Element

If you oven is electric, you will have two heating elements, one at the top and one at the bottom of the oven that provide heat to cook your foods. These metal coils contain electrical wires that heat the coil when they receive electrical current. When the heating elements are functioning properly, they will produce even heat throughout the entire element and have a consistent glow to them.

If the heating element is defective, they won’t heat sufficiently, causing a Samsung oven temperature problem. If the top element is defective, food may be underdone on the top of the dish and if the bottom element is defective, food will be raw on the bottom. This repair will require a technician to perform the repair.

Faulty Samsung Oven Temperature Sensor

The temperature sensor works with the thermostat to control and regulate the oven temperature. As the temperature rises, the sensor’s resistance will also rise until the proper temperature is reached, preventing your oven from becoming too hot. If this sensor is not positioned properly in the oven or malfunctioning, your oven will not properly heat and require a repair technician with an ohm monitor to check to see if this is the malfunction cause.

Convection Oven Fan Malfunction

A convection oven not cooking food properly can be from the fan malfunctioning. Convection ovens use a fan to continually circulate the air for even cooking. If the fan has failed, air will not properly circulate, creating uneven cooking.
